This image was from a young lady that stepped into my booth at a show and had this fantastic tattoo, I asked if I could take a picture as I felt it needed to be translated into glass. I get inspiration from many sources and the challenge lays in translating said image into glass, the color and finish of the glass can change how an image reads to the viewer. As I felt this needed to read as a grumpy old frog I started with a green mossy look glass and did the toad in various greens. With the addition of the ominous yellow eyes peering out from under his mushroom I think he came across with the look I had in mind.
